Nadroga Rugby Union President Tiko Matawalu says they are concerned about the fitness of their players as they resumed their training to prepare for their first match against Suva.
Matawalu says the fitness test on Tuesday revealed that a lot of players have a weakness in their body conditions and the coaches are working hard with them in bringing back their usual body conditions before rugby was suspended in March. He says this is due to the long break of rugby in the country that was caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. There is some good news for Nadroga as Fiji 7s reps Apenisa Cakaubalavu and Peceli Nacebe are back training with the side.
Experienced players like Fijian Drua captain Eremasi Radrodro, Emosi Vucago, Apete Salawaqavuka, Joeli Lutumailagi, Jonetani Ralulu and Setefano Somoca are also back. The Skipper Cup match and Farebrother Challenge between Nadroga and Suva will be held at Lawaqa Park on the 25th of next month.
