First batch of Fijian e-passports to arrive in a few days - Vuniwaqa

Director of Immigration Nemani Vuniwaqa says the first batch of Fijian e-passports is expected to arrive in the country in a few days time.

The first batch contains 5,000 passports.

Vuniwaqa says they were supposed to start the issuance of the e-passports from Monday however this will be delayed.

He says once the passports arrive, they will have training for their staff and the installation of the new system.

Vuniwaqa adds they hope to start the issuance of the new e-passports by September.
