Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has today launched Fiji’s first ever self-contained mobile timber treatment plant in Vunisea, Kadavu.
Bainimarama says Kadavu is the first community to welcome such a project.
He says over the next six months, this new treatment plant will be available to treat timber so that it can resist the decay from rot and insects that is caused over time and granting timber an extended lifetime of up to 50 years.
Bainimarama says the people of Kadavu will be able to use the treated timber to build more resilient and valuable homes.
