The construction of Fiji’s first electric bus is 60 percent complete and will arrive in a few weeks’ time.
This has been confirmed by Tebara Buses Limited CEO, Arvind Maharaj who said they still need to talk with government agencies and the Fiji Electricity Authority about the project.
Maharaj said they will be using FEA’s grid to charge the bus.
He said they still need to finalize all documentation before the bus is brought into the country.
Maharaj added that the 55 seater bus costs close to $600,000.
It will take up to three hours for the electric bus to be fully charged which will operate for about 160 kilometres.
