High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea Mosese Tikoitoga has passed away.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mosese Tikoitoga was an invaluable member of the Ministry, proudly heeding the nation’s call and demonstrating dedication and passion throughout his tenure and his leadership, commitment and diligence contributed to the deepening of our relations with Papua New Guinea.
Tikoitoga passed away in Port Moresby last Friday following a short illness.
They say Tikoitoga was also a former Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and with a responsibility he took on with pride, dedication and humility.
The government highlights that in his remembrance, a Condolence Book will be opened for signatures at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Wednesday from 10am to 3pm.
Diplomatic missions and Agencies are kindly requested to liaise with the Ministry’s Protocol Division on their preferred times of signing.
They say beyond his professional accomplishments, the late High Commissioner will be fondly remembered for his camaraderie, kindness and willingness to support his colleagues.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs requests respect for the privacy of the late High Commissioner, Tikoitoga’s family during this difficult time and appreciates the support from all who knew and worked alongside him.
The Ministry says planning for the funeral arrangement is being undertaken in coordination with the RFMF to ensure appropriate ceremonies and protocols are observed.
They add the arrangements will be conveyed in due course once finalised.
