Fijiana Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula says this afternoon's opening test against the Rebels in the Super W competition is a big test as they haven’t played in any international tournament since the extended squad was named more than two years ago.
He says he knows the players will play their hearts out.
Seruvakula adds the Melbourne Rebels are a very experienced side that has been playing together for the past 3 years so he has reminded the players to remain consistent, maintain discipline and play according to the game plan.
Bitila Tawake will be leading the Fijiana Drua.
Seruvakula has named 19 local players in his 23-member team and these players have experience of playing internationally as they have featured for the Fijiana XV’s during the Rugby World Cup qualification in 2019.
The Fijiana Drua side is stacked with local and overseas-based players, all of whom will make their Super W debut.
Other players included are Vika Matarugu, Jiowana Sauto, Sereima Leweniqila, Merewalesi Rokouono and Roela Radiniyavuni.
The Fijiana Drua will meet the Rebels at 5.30pm today at the Endeavor Hills Rugby Club Grounds in Melbourne.
