Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s interim coach Timoci Volavola has revealed that his main goal is to help the team maintain their spot as one of the top 8 core teams.
Volavola says most of the players will be playing in their first ever international tournament and he is looking forward to driving them to work hard in achieving their goal.
When asked about their opponents in the pool, Volavola says they have been drawn in a tough pool with Australia, Ireland and China and they all played very well in the last Olympics.
He says it is a new season and all the teams are looking to take things up another notch from last year.
The Fijiana 7s will take on Ireland at 5.44pm Saturday in their first pool match, they will then face Australia at 9.05pm Saturday and then play China at 1.13am Sunday in their final pool match.
The women’s cup quarterfinals will kick off at 5.20pm Sunday, the semifinals will begin at 9.12pm and the cup final will be at 3.35am next Monday.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s will take on Spain at 6.06pm Saturday in their first match, they will then take on the USA at 9.52pm Saturday before they play NZ at 3.16am Sunday in their final pool match.
The men’s cup quarter finals will kick off at 6.48pm Sunday, the semi finals will start at 10.06pm Sunday and the cup final will be at 4.11am next Monday.
