Two highly anticipated test matches between the Vodafone Fijiana 15's team and Japan will be played in Fiji next month.
The Fiji Rugby Union says these matches represent not only a thrilling sporting spectacle but also a platform to showcase the exceptional talent and skill of the players to Fiji’s local fan base.
The Fijiana 15s will play the Japan Women on the 14th of June at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva in the first match before heading to Lautoka for their second test match on the 20th of June.
These matches will be the first home test matches of 2024, both for the women's and men's teams.
The FRU further says the upcoming Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship that the Fijiana 15s will be participating in has been instrumental in fostering the growth and development of women's rugby across Oceania since its inception in 2016, this championship.
They say Fiji will be joined alongside Women’s teams from Papua New Guinea, Samoa, and Tonga in this year’s competition which will be held in Brisbane.
The Vodafone Fijiana 15s side will kick off their Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship campaign against the Tongan Women at 7.30pm this Friday in Brisbane.
