Taniela Savou a Petty Officer Supply Chain on board HMS Tamar for the last 18 years says while Fiji faces a war on drugs and illegal fishing, we should help the Government combat these activities and be instruments of peace in Fiji to make it a better place to live in.
Savou who hails from Lakeba, Lau joined the UK Royal Navy in 2004, says joining the Navy has been a blessing and his family has been the fuel behind his career.
Savou left his work at the University of the South Pacific to join the Navy and has toured around the world during his service and has never regretted joining the Navy.

He says he attended Marist Brothers Primary School and Marist Brothers High School and he says it was during his time in MBHS when he decided to join the Navy.
Savou, who is currently patrolling the Fiji waters with his crew says he is glad to be back home and catch up with family members and friends.
When questioned by fijivillage News on his message to his young Fijians wanting to join the Navy, Savou says that discipline and commitment are the keys.
He will be retiring after serving 21 years in the Royal Navy.
The HMS Tamar will be patrolling the Fiji waters and the Pacific region for the next 3 weeks before it goes back to Australia where it is based.
