Fijian and New Zealand Police have provided necessary support to the late Laisa Maraia Waka’s son, constable Epeineri Tunidau and his family.
Waka was fatally stabbed just metres from her home in Sockburn, Christchurch last week.
The Senior Liaison Officer for the New Zealand Police, Superintendent Glyn Rowland accompanied the Fiji Police Force delegation to present the joint reguregu in Nabitu Village, Nakelo, Tailevu.
Rowland also handed over New Zealand Police assistance to Tunidau's family to help them through this difficult time.
The New Zealand Police on learning that the late Waka’s son is a member of the Fiji Police Force also initiated their own support systems in fast-tracking the arrest of the perpetrator, facilitation of pathological services and assistance in ensuring Waka’s body receives priority en route to Fiji.
