The Fijian Drua will host the Waratahs at the ANZ Stadium on 1st April, next year in the Super Rugby Pacific.
While confirming this, Fijian Drua CEO Brian Thorburn says the Waratahs are building up a great squad who have big names like Wallaby captain Michael Hooper, Angus Bell, Lachlan Swinton, Izaia Perese and Mark Nawaqanitawase.
He says they are still evaluating prospects for another match to be hosted in Fiji, which could either be against the Force on March 19th, the Highlanders on 30th April or the Chiefs on 27th May.
Thorburn says border restrictions and other commercial considerations will be a factor, and they will make announcements in due course.
Thorburn adds the Drua will finalise all other home venues in Australia shortly against the Rebels, Brumbies, Highlanders, Moana Pasifika and the Chiefs.
Meanwhile, the opening round of the revised Super Rugby Pacific draw will see the Fijian Drua face the Waratahs on Friday 18th February next year, followed by the Reds playing the Rebels and the Force facing the Brumbies on Saturday night.
The Moana Pasifika and the Blues match in Auckland on 18th February will kick off the revised draw, commencing the start of a new era.
The Chiefs will host the Highlanders and the Crusaders will welcome the Hurricanes to Christchurch on February 19th.
