The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua team left our shores this morning for their round 4 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash against the Queensland Reds this weekend with the motive of continuing their fine form from last week’s win against defending champions the Crusaders.
Head coach Mick Byrne has retained the core of the team that beat the Crusaders with slight changes seeing Meli Derenalagi making a return to the starting line up and captaining the side moving Te Ariwahu Cirikidaveta to the locks and young Ratu Leone Rotuisolia to the bench. The Fijian Drua will also be looking to avenge their heartbreak 33-28 loss to the Reds last year.
Meanwhile, the Reds have named a strong side including 4 Fijians with Serupepeli Uru and Filipo Daugunu in the starting 15, while Suliasi Vunivalu and Peni Ravai will be on the bench.
The Reds will host the Fijian Drua at 5pm on Sunday in Brisbane. In other Super Rugby Pacific matches this week, the Hurricanes host the Waratahs at 6.05pm tonight, the Chiefs take on the Rebels at 3.35pm tomorrow, the Blues play the Crusaders at 6.05pm tomorrow, the Brumbies will play Moana Pasifika at 8.35pm tomorrow, and the Highlanders will play the Force at 2.35pm, Sunday.
