Former Queensland Reds winger, Ilaisa Droasese has joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua squad.
The 22-year was part of the Fiji Schoolboys and Fiji U20s teams before moving to Australia to join Brisbane City in the former NRC in 2019 and featured for the Reds in Super Rugby 2021.
Fijian Drua CEO Brian Thorburn says they are past the halfway mark of their maiden Super Rugby journey and with injuries and workload management well and truly in play, it is great to sign another young Fijian talent.
Thorburn says Droasese’s experience within the Reds strong rugby programme in 2021 would be handy.
He says they look forward to him challenging for a place in the match-day 23 when he settles in.
Droasese is a former Cuvu College student, featuring in the Deans competition in 2017 and 2018.
Former NRC breakout star, Alivereti Veitokani has also joined the Fijian Drua squad.
The Fijian Drua will face the Highlanders at 4.35pm Saturday at the ANZ Stadium.
