Fiji to face New Zealand in the cup quarterfinal after losing to South Africa 7-17

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Team will now face New Zealand in the 3rd cup quarterfinal of the Singapore 7s at 4.14pm today.

Fiji lost their last pool match by 17‑7 to South Africa while it was Fiji’s big win over Canada in their first pool match that was enough for Fiji to qualify.

Canada also helped Fiji qualify for the quarter-finals after they beat Scotland in the last pool game.

Livai Ikanikoda scored Fiji’s lone try.

Fiji had lost also lost their second pool game against Scotland 19-12.

In the other Cup quarterfinals, South Africa will meet Samoa at 3.30pm, USA will face Argentina at 3.52pm while Australia will take on England in the last Cup quarterfinal at 4.36.

The cup semifinals start at 7.50pm while the Cup final is at 11pm Sunday.
