The Fiji soccer team went down 1‑0 against defending champions New Caledonia in their third pool match of the Pacific Games in Samoa.
New Caledonia scored in the first half from the penalty spot.
The loss leaves the Bula boys three points behind group leaders New Caledonia.
Fiji now needs to win their two remaining matches against Solomon’s and Tuvalu and hope New Caledonia drop points.
Fiji earlier beat Tahiti 2-1 and American Samoa 9-0.
Fiji will face Tuvalu in its fourth match at 12pm next Monday 12pm.
The two top teams from the two pools will qualify for the final.
