Former Fiji athlete Calvin Yee has been appointed to be the Youth Chef de Mission of Fiji to the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games that will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from the 4th to the 11th of August, 2023.

Yee acknowledged FASANOC and Team Fiji for the appointment as he takes across a team of 8 athletes that will be participating in the 4 selected sports that consist of athletics, swimming, cycling and triathlon.

He says a male and a female athlete will be selected to represent Fiji in each sport.

The Chef de Mission says for athletics, a 17 or 18-year-old will represent our country for the sport while an age category female from 14-17 years will be selected and male swimmers are expected to be at the age of 15-18 years old.

He says athletes representing cycling should be at the age of 17 and 18 years old and triathlon with the ages of 15-17 years old.

Yee says they are still waiting for confirmation from the Youth Olympics Organizing Committee about confirming rugby 7s.
