The Fiji Airways Men's National 7s team needs to win the remaining two matches today to win the Oceania 7s.
The side defeated Australia 19-7 last night.
They are the only undefeated team in the men’s competition.
Fiji started the match with a lot of errors however got their act together in the 3rd minute after Kavekini Tabu burst through the Australian defence which saw Alasio Naduva scoring the first try.
Australia responded minutes later however Tabu’s second try in the last minute of the first half gave Fiji a 12-7 lead at the break.
Jiuta Wainiqolo scored the third try for Fiji in the second half.
In another match last night, New Zealand defeated the Oceania 7s team 21-17.
Fiji will now face the Oceania 7s at 2.30pm today and play New Zealand at 8.07 tonight. There are six rounds of matches in the Oceania 7s where each team will play each other twice. The highest-ranked team after six matches will be declared the winner.
