Fiji has been ranked #3 in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel list for 2025.

Lonely Planet, a world-renowned travel publisher, has long set the standard for insightful, practical, and comprehensive travel guides.

Covering most countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, Lonely Planet’s guidebooks and digital platforms offer trusted recommendations for low and mid-budget travellers, featuring on-the-ground tips, immersive cultural experiences, and local insights that help visitors discover the essence of each destination.

The list celebrates the top 30 countries, regions and cities around the world, chosen by Lonely Planet’s team of travel experts.

Tourism Fiji says Fiji’s inclusion in this high-profile list cements our position as a unique and sought after destination.

The Lonely Planet team described visiting Fiji as “a transformative experience” with specific mention of the work being done to protect our unique ecosystems.

CEO of Tourism Fiji, Brent Hill says while the primary focus of their efforts is to ensure that Fiji remains a premier destination for travellers, accolades like this are incredibly encouraging.

Hill says they serve as a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire tourism industry, from local businesses to hospitality professionals.

He adds it’s important to remember that this is not just about awards—it’s about ensuring our industry continues to grow sustainably and that the economic benefits of tourism are felt by all Fijians.
