The Fiji Rugby Union is looking to get the services of the most sought-after Crusaders coach, Scott Robertson to coach the Flying Fijians to the upcoming Rugby World Cup in France.
After the sudden departure of former coach Vern Cotter, it has left the FRU racing against time to look for a replacement with the World Cup kicking off in just under seven months.
Fiji Rugby’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Tevita Tuiloa is doing everything he can to attract the best talent for this role including baiting Robertson with the temptation of spending time in Fijian waters.
Tuiloa jokingly said he knows Robertson is a surfer, so they have offered him to come and surf at Cloud Break in Tavarua for free and he could coach the Flying Fijians to another Rugby World Cup quarter finals.
Robertson is many people’s favourite to be the next All Blacks head coach after the Rugby World Cup but the 48-year-old caused an enormous flap last week when he said the announcement of a new All Blacks coach is imminent.
The Rugby World Cup will be held from the 9th of September to 28th October.
