Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua speaking to senior officers of the RFMF

Members of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces were today reminded that Fiji needs them in these challenging times.

While speaking at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Minister for Home Affairs and Immigration, Pio Tikoduadua says the RFMF plays a crucial role in the security of the nation, especially in the transition of powers.

He says the military assisted in the smooth running of the election and hopes that this type of leadership will continue to lead the RFMF.

Tikoduadua also acknowledged the leadership by the Commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai and also stated that he puts his trust in the Commander.

The Minister’s visit to QEB was through a request made by Kalouniwai when the Commander met the Minister last month.

Tikoduadua was accorded the quarter guard and was also traditionally welcomed by the officers.

He was escorted by Land Force Commander Col. Onisimo Covunisaqa.

Also attending the event was Fiji Navy Commander, Humphrey Tawake, and other senior officials.
