Fiji must remain vigilant and increase efforts as there are new threats and risks for children in a globalized world.
This has been highlighted by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Rosy Akbar while speaking at a workshop with key stakeholders from government ministries, non-government organizations and civil society, who will play an important role to validate the National Child Protection Strategic Framework and the Five-year Action Plan 2022-2027.
Akbar has stressed the important role parents play in the upbringing of a child.
Akbar further says prevention and response to child neglect and abuse will require a collective approach, thus the National Child Protection Strategic Framework and the Five-year Action Plan 2022-2027 will provide strong guidance and strategic direction.
The two-day workshop will conclude today.
