Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has raised concerns that Fiji is still not an easy place to be a woman.
Speaking at the Fiji Rugby Awards, Bainimarama says he is proud of the work they have done to build a safer and inclusive society but the work is nowhere near finished.
He says that we are still plagued by dangerously high rates of domestic violence and mentalities among some men that women are somehow less than they are.
The Prime Minister says everyone knows that this is rubbish but unfortunately too many men still don’t know that they are not above women.
Bainimarama says as a father of five strong minded daughters, he knows this lesson to be true.
