The Rugby 7s pool matches for the Olympic Games have been announced and the Fiji Men's National 7s team is in Pool B with Great Britain, Canada and host nation Japan.
The 12 men’s and 12 women’s teams have been allocated to three pools of four teams, according to rankings based upon their performances in the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series and other World Rugby-sanctioned tournaments over the past two years.
In Pool A, we have Rugby World Cup Sevens and World Series champions New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and South Korea who qualified for Tokyo by winning the Asian qualification tournament.
South Africa who was the bronze medallist in Rio is in Pool C with USA, Kenya and Ireland.
In the Women's competition, the Fijiana 7s side is in Pool B with Canada, France and Brazil while New Zealand joins Russia, Great Britain and Kenya in Pool A.
The final pool will see the host nation Japan taking on Olympic champions Australia, USA and China.
Meanwhile, Fiji 7s coach Gareth Baber will be naming the team that will head to the Olympics at the end of this week.
The Olympic Rugby 7s competition will be held from the 26th to the 31st of July.
