Fiji has been identified as one of the four pilot countries for the Pacific Coconut Development project.
This initiative supports Pacific economies to export value-added coconut-based products such as, coconut yoghurt, high quality oil, protein, flour and so forth and also to promote the use of coconut oil-fueled power generators in rural areas.
A final draft report on the project also submitted by Fiji’s Ambassador to the EU Peceli Vocea has been approved by the European Commission.
Meanwhile, a funding approval to the EC will be tabled following the summer break this month.
