Minister for Economy and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khiayum revealed that 600,000 $7 notes and around 700,000 50cent coins are in circulation.
In his ministerial speech Sayed-Khaiyum says that the cost of printing 2 million commemorative notes was paid by the Reserve Bank of Fiji and not by the government and tax payers.
He adds that this is the only $7 bank note in circulation in the world.
