Fiji is showing an excessive amount of salt intake exceeding the WHO recommended amount of 5 grams per day.
Dr Wendy Snowden C-Pond coordinator of Pacific Research Centre revealed this in a presentation today at the 4th Consultation on NCD Prevention and Control.
Data from the study shows female consume 7.8 grams of salt per day while males consume 11.3 grams per day.
Snowden also pointed out another health concern highlighted by the study.
