The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team are out of the Dubai 7s despite beating France 24-12 in their last pool match.
Fiji had to beat France by a margin of 18 points but a combination of poor discipline and lack of urgency proved costly for the side.
France raced on to a 14-0 lead before Waisea Nacuqu scored to half the deficit.
France led 14-7 at the break.
Jerry Tuwai and Alasio Naduva scored two more tries for Fiji in the second half but it was not enough to save them from elimination.
Sevuloni Mocenacagi was shown a yellow card in the first half.
They were earlier beaten 24-21 by Argentina in their second pool match.
