Fiji discussing improved financing mechanisms, addressing climate change with UNESCAP

During a recent meeting with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific Executive Secretary, Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Professor Biman Prasad says discussions centered on improving financing mechanisms, addressing climate change, and fostering inclusive growth to meet the Pacific's unique challenges.

The leaders met during the High-Level Regional Consultation on Financing for Development in Asia and the Pacific at the UN Conference Centre in Bangkok.

The meeting highlighted the strong and ongoing collaboration between Fiji and UNESCAP, focusing on regional integration and sustainable development in the Pacific.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reinforced Fiji’s commitment to working with UNESCAP to advance development goals and ensure a resilient and prosperous future for the Pacific region.
