The Digicel Fiji Women's soccer team has beaten New Caledonia 3-1 in their final group match in the Women's Nations Cup at the HFC Bank Stadium.
The result means Fiji has qualified for the quarterfinals.
Fiji took an early lead when Aliza Hussein fired in a beautiful freekick from an acute angle in the 4th minute.
They led 1-0 for most of the first half before captain Sofi Diyalowai walked past the New Caledonian defence and placed it beyond the reach of the goal keeper to double Fiji's lead.
Fiji led 2-0 at half time.
Diyalowai scored her second goal in the 55th minute to put the game to bed.
Jackie Pahoa scored a late consolation goal for New Caledonia from the penalty spot in injury time.
New Caledonia will now play the Solomon Islands in the last pool match.
