The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s team has qualified for the semifinals of the Las Vegas 7s after a tough quarterfinal against New Zealand as they came from behind to score a try at the last minute and secure a 14-10 victory.
The national side had so many opportunities to score but New Zealand kept them at their feet as they applied strong defence to keep Fiji trailing until the final minute.
Fiji’s tries were scored by Vatemo Ravouvou in the first half but New Zealand were leading 10-7 at halftime.
Fiji’s second try was scored by captain Jerry Tuwai who kept his cool to encourage his players to play to the last minute.

Fiji will now meet USA in the semifinals at 9.12am tomorrow.
USA beat England 17-12 in the second quarterfinal.
In the second semifinals, South Africa will face Argentina at 9:34am.
South Africa beat Australia 29-17 while Argentina defeated Kenya 17-12.
The final will be played at 12.30pm tomorrow.
