Minister for National Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu

A Memorandum of Understanding focused on Disaster Risk Management has been signed between the Fijian and Indonesian government.

Minister for National Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu says the agreement will allow the two nations to prepare themselves to be self-sustaining and resilient after a natural disaster.

He says it will also lessen the impact of a disaster on our social systems, infrastructure and the economy.

Seruiratu has also revealed that they will soon visit the Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority to learn from their operations and processes.

He says they will also see the design of their facility and perhaps adapt to their intended NDMO complex that they intend to construct soon.
