Fiji and India focus on building partnerships for prosperity. The new High Commissioner of India to Fiji, Suneet Mehta met with Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sitiveni Rabuka to discuss potential future collaborations, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
The ongoing cooperation between the two nations in areas of healthcare, renewable energy, information technology, skills development, agriculture and cultural and people-to-people exchange were also discussed.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the 55 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations and reaffirmed the Fiji Government’s commitment to further the cooperation.
He also thanked the Government of India for its support in the construction of a 100-bed Super Speciality Hospital in Fiji - one of the most significant initiatives and largest development projects in the Pacific region.
The High Commissioner says that India-Fiji relations hold immense potential, and he looks forward to expanding the collaboration across both established and emerging sectors.
