Fiji Rugby congratulates Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team for World Cup win

Plan underway to celebrate this great achievement - FRU

Fiji Rugby Board Chairman Commodore Humphrey Tawake has congratulated the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s men’s team for another milestone achievement in the history of rugby in Fiji after winning the Melrose Cup, and while we look forward to the return of the team from Cape Town, he says they are having consultations with stakeholders on a plan to celebrate this great achievement.

Commodore Tawake says this is a tremendous achievement by the Fijian 7s Head Coach, Management and the Team who have toiled tirelessly with commitment, sacrifices and diligence in making our country and all Fijians globally proud. He has thanked Fijian 7s Head Coach Ben Gollings, his management, players and their families.

Commodore Tawake says on behalf of the President of Fiji Rugby, the Board, Management and Staff, Fiji Airways, sponsors, stakeholders and all Fijians, they wish to sincerely thank the Coaches, the Management Team and all the players for this great achievement.

Commodore Tawake adds that they would also like to thank the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team for their 5th place finish compared to the 11th place position in 2018.

He says Fijiana 7s continues to make huge improvements on the world stage and we are proud of their performance. The FRU Chairman has also thanked major sponsor, Fiji Airways and all other associated sponsors for their continued support. He has also thanked 7s supporters, the Vanua and all Fijians for their patience, prayers and support towards the success of our national sevens team.
