Around 150,000 customers from Naitasiri, Rewa and Tailevu now do not need to travel to Suva to access tax services as a new Fiji Revenue and Customs Service office opened in Nausori Town this morning.
CEO, Visvanath Das says this will make things easier for thousands of people to access new taxpayer and business registration, lodging of tax returns, Joint Card applications and customer queries on tax and customs issues.
Das says there are 5,386 businesses and 574 companies in these three provinces with 3,336 importers.
He says partnership is one of their key strategic focus areas outlined in their 3 year Strategic Plan and they anticipate that the opening of the Nausori office will also enable them to work more closely with taxpayers.
The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service has spent around $320,000 to set up the office in Main Street, Nausori.
This is their 11th outlet in the country.
