An internal investigation will be carried out by the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services to determine the allegations of torture and assault levelled against five of its officers.
Spokesperson, Josefa Matau said apart from the police investigation they will be setting up a team to look into the allegations.
The five are still with the Prisons Department and have not been suspended.
It is alleged that the victim, a nightclub Manager was allegedly sprayed with capsicum spray, taken to the Naboro Prison complex where the alleged beating took place yesterday morning.
