Fiji Ports Terminal Limited announced an additional performance bonus payout of $376,000 for 435 employees.

While making the announcement, Fiji Ports Chairman Hasmukh Patel says that the payment is in addition to the $428,248 performance payout made in October this year and is in recognition of the significant contribution made by Fiji Ports employees towards improving Port efficiencies and productivity.

The payment is for the 2017 financial year.

Patel says that the payment could not have come at a better time as Christmas is just around the corner.

He adds that the payment distribution will vary as day contractors will get a maximum of $300 based on their performance and contribution.

Registered relief workers will be paid a standard average of $400 subject to performance review while permanent staff will have their payout determined through their salary band.

Acting Prime Minister and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while giving his address reminded the employees, Board and management that it is important that they ensure that the efficiency of the facility increases.
