Fiji Ports Limited is working with the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji in removing the shipwrecks in the Suva Harbor.
This has been confirmed by the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji CEO John Tunidau while speaking at a talanoa session with the Prime Minister and members of the public in Suva.
He has also revealed that some wrecks have already been removed by Fiji Ports adding that the tender has been awarded to a contractor who will soon work on the removal of the Southern Phoenix.
Meanwhile, MSAF Manager Port Regulatory and Emergency Response, Phillip Hill has stated that it will take the contractors 3 months to remove the sunken vessel.
