Fiji Ports Corporation yet to receive report on sinking of MV Suilven
The MV Suilven sinking in the Suva Harbour last November.

The Fiji Ports Corporation Limited is yet to receive the assessment report on the MV Suilven sinking in the Suva Harbour last November.

Further details have not been revealed after Fijivillage sent questions on the report of the investigation.

The Fiji Ports Corporation Limited say a team from overseas was here in the country to conduct an assessment of the vessel on the option of removing it from its current location.

However, this report is an internal report and has to be discussed with relevant stakeholders before they discuss it with external parties.

FPCL will have to discuss this report with other parties such as Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of  Public Enterprises,  Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji and ship owner and formulate a strategy to salvage after identifying the funding available for this operation as the cost will be very high.

FPCL say they will release a statement once the assessment is finalized.
