The Fiji Roads Authority has held talks with the Fiji Police Force with regards to the traffic management at the Kinoya Junction as the traffic lights have not been functioning for over a week now.
FRA says Police have given assurance that they will be present at peak and off peak hours whenever necessary to assist motorists and pedestrians.
This comes after motorists had raised concerns with regards to uncourteous drivers which is a threat to the public.
Students, parents and many others that live within the vicinity use these lights to cross the road.
Fijivillage had highlighted that there needs to be traffic management at the junction even outside peak traffic hours.
FRA had earlier confirmed that the lights are not functioning due to a system failure.
The Authority said that they will ensure the traffic signal intersection will be controlled by signs and cones and the traffic police officers provide assistance to the public during peak hours.
FRA is working on arranging a replacement controller and lanterns within two weeks.
