The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side finished in 3rd place at the Cape Town 7s after defeating Ireland 14-7 this morning.
It was a hard-fought game for Fiji as they were scoreless in the first half.
Gavin Mullin put Ireland in the lead with his converted try in the third minute.
Ireland led 7-0 at halftime.
The Fijians rallied back in the second half, lifting their defence and attack.
Pilipo Bukayaro broke through Ireland’s defence in the second half to score Fiji’s first try.
Captain Joseva Talacolo led by example, scoring on the stroke of full-time to give Fiji the win.
Meanwhile, Argentina will play Australia at 5.23am today in the men’s cup final.
