The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side kicked off their preparations for this week’s HSBC Perth 7s with a gym session last night.
The Ben Gollings-coached side landed in Perth on Sunday and are looking to break their 13-tournament losing streak as they build on towards the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The side has seen the return of some veterans like Waisea Nacuqu, Josua Vakurunabili, and Suliano Volivolituevei along with upcoming youngster Ponipate Loganimasi who all missed the first leg of the 2023/2024 HSBC World 7s Series in Dubai and Cape Town.
Gollings has also opted to include more experienced players in the squad for this leg with the inclusion of Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Terio Veilawa, Joseva Talacolo, Kaminieli Rasaku and Vuiviwa Naduvalo.
The Fiji Men’s 7s side will take on Samoa at 6.38pm Friday in their first pool match and play France at 11.31pm Friday. They will then take on New Zealand at 5.25pm on Saturday in their final pool match. The Men’s cup quarter finals will start at 10.10pm Saturday, the cup semi finals will kick off at 5.10pm Sunday and the cup final will start at 9.53pm Sunday.
