Prostate cancer is the most common cancer affecting men in Fiji, with the risk increasing with age and in supporting Movember, the international movement for prostate cancer and men's health awareness, Fiji Airways' domestic subsidiary Fiji Link is installing moustaches on its ATR aircrafts.
For the entire month of November, Fiji Link's ATR fleet of ATR 42 and ATR 72 will be sporting dapper looks with moustache decals on the front of the aircraft, with the aim of spreading awareness and creating dialogue around the importance of early detection and prevention of the illness.
Fiji Link General Manager, Athil Narayan says that Fiji Link had a very successful Pinktober campaign, and they’re pleased to get involved with raising awareness for Movember.
He also stressed that as a man, he thinks the mindset of invincibility and the lack of dialogue when it comes to cancer and other illnesses is still very much dominant in Fiji.
Narayan says that Fiji needs to realise the importance of early detection and lifestyle choices and start having frank and open discussions about our health.
Fiji Link, along with parent company Fiji Airways, will be holding various internal activities to raise funds and awareness for the campaign.
