The Fiji International which is presented by Fiji Airways has announced some community initiatives for this year’s tournament.

One of the initiatives is Bucks for Birdie School Program whereby $10 will be given for every birdie scored by professionals at the tournament.

The money collected will be donated to 6 schools in the vicinity of Natadola.

Minister for Tourism Faiyaz Koya says last year there were about 1300 birdies scored and that was about $13,000.

Another initiative is the free medical testing provided by SmartLabs.

The Fiji International will be held from next Thursday.
