Minister for Health and Medical Services, Doctor Ifereimi Waqainabete confirms that one reason that the Fiji Futsal Team was stuck in New Caledonia is that some of the players were suspected to have measles symptoms.

In an interview, Dr Waqainabete says all the players were tested and in the second level of testing, only three players were cleared from the disease.

He says the other players was vaccinated and quarantined and were only allowed to travel once the quarantine period was over.

Dr Waqainabete says the Ministry took a lot of hit from this issue and what they did was in the interest of the people.

He also thanked the Fiji Football Association for trusting the FijiFirst Government in their time of crisis.
