The Fiji Football Association is hoping to resume the Digicel Premier League by the end of October.
CEO Mohammed Yusuf says they have lodged the phase two of the framework document to the Fiji Sports Commission and are awaiting their response.
Yusuf says it looks like teams will be allowed to train in early October and they will be given three to four weeks to prepare.
He says they have had discussions with the districts on the possibility of having mid-week matches if they are to finish the league by December.
Yusuf adds they also plan to organize atleast one major tournament before Christmas but that depends on the conclusion of the Digicel Premier League.
He says finishing the league first is their priority at the moment.
Before the suspension of the DPL due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in April this year, the Lautoka soccer team was leading the table with 13 points while Rewa was second with 11 points.
All teams have played 6 matches so far.
