The Fiji Corrections Service is now working to meet all the targets set by Government under its Capital Projects for 2014.
Ministry of Finance officials earlier this week toured the Corrections facilities in Nasinu, Suva and Naboro to try and gauge the extent of work being carried out already.
Corrections Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent Akuila Namakadre said the capital projects for 2014 included the maintenance of staff Quarters, upgrading of CCTV, fencing of the institutions, upgrading of corrections institutions, institutions road works and the construction of a new piggery shed.
Earlier this year the Fiji Correction Services was allocated $2.2 million for the construction of a new Remand Centre and a Women’s Correction Facility in Lautoka with $570,000 for the re-fencing of the Naboro Prison compound.
