The Fiji Corrections Service is now in the process of expanding the Nasinu Cemetery and Suva Cemetery and they are expecting 25,000 burial plots in the medium term for Nasinu and 15,000 burial plots for Suva.
While speaking at the Nasinu Cemetery, Corrections Commissioner Francis Kean says they are getting 25 requests for burial plots per week for the Nasinu Cemetery.
Commissioner Kean says with the shortage of space, they have also requested that the burial plots be opened after 14 years if people want to use a relative’s plot to bury another loved one.
