The Fiji Cancer Society is currently looking after more than 320 cancer patients.

President of the Fiji Cancer Society, Makarava Wilson says these patients are given medication which also includes medication that is not available in Fiji and transportation for medical checkups.

Wilson says cancer is one of the four main killers in Fiji and with the help of some organizations such as the Suva Golden Oldies Rugby Club, they were able to reach out to men through prostate screening tests and also this initiative has been extended to church programs.

Wilson is urging men who are more than 45 years old to visit their nearest health centre and screening clinics to get tested for prostate cancer as cancer does not discriminate and early detection saves lives.

He adds they also promote awareness programmes around the country.
