The Vodafone Fiji Bati has climbed up two spots in the latest rugby league world rankings and is now fifth overall.

This follows their World Cup semifinal loss to Australia two weeks ago.

The Bati has overtaken Wales and Papua New Guinea, who have both dropped a place following their disappointing efforts in the World Cup.

World champion Australia has cemented their status as the best nation in international rugby league.

New Zealand is second, England third and France is in fourth position.

USA has broken into the Top 10 for the first time after their impressive showing in the 14-nation tournament, where they defeated Wales and the Cook Islands to qualify for the quarterfinals.
