The Fiji Bati has created history by becoming the first Fijian rugby league team to make it to the semifinal of the Rugby League World Cup (RLWC). The Vodafone Fiji Bati side is on cloud number nine after making it into the top four at the World Cup in Australia.

Fiji Bati defeated Ireland by 30 points to 14 after leading 12-10 at half time last night. This was one of the best matches ever played by the Fiji Bati at the World Cup.
Captain Wes Naiqama led by example as he scored the first try while Akuila Uate grabbed two with Jason Bukuya and Jerrad Hayne also going on the scoring sheet.
Naiqama after the match said they were confident of a win against Ireland.
Naiqama said the Fiji Bati which is laced with NRL players, are now looking forward to playing against the Australian Kangaroos in the semifinal.
Fiji Bati scrumhalf Aaron Groom who was once again named man-of-the-match said they deserved the win and a lot was done after they lost to Scotland.
The Vodafone Fiji Bati will now play Rugby League World Cup champions Australia in the second semifinal on Sunday at 9pm.
